Attractions around Mbarara

Mbarara is a great city in western Uganda with breath taking scenery, safari opportunities, thriving Universities, markets, breweries, and night life. The attractions range from natural to build- up, for example among the natural attractions there is Lake Mburo national park a 45km journey from Mbarara, unique with the zebras and the Impalas and other wildlife. This gives you room to enjoy various water sports such as boat cruises, canoeing and spot fishing due to the existence of a lake in the middle of the park.

Lake Nakivale with sandy beaches for visitors to refresh and relax, canoeing along River Rwizi and its habituated cobra snakes kept in a safari park. Visiting Igongo cultural site  a museum containing all the crafts, souvenirs, traditional remains of the local   people in western Uganda which is a memorable experience to encounter. The center has also   built up a country hotel   where one can enjoy an African traditional meal from this region, beautiful gardens, a place to do weddings, birthdays and other get together parties. The burial site of Abagabe at Nkokonjeru tombs and many other    attractions all in Mbarara.
