This 5 Day queen Elizabeth birding safari involves having a feel of birding in Uganda alongside  thrilling wildlife encounters.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Early in the morning after an early morning breakfast, you guide will pick you from your hotel and you will embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. Through masaka highway, have a stop at equator statue for a couple of photos and later proceed westwards to queen Elizabeth arriving Mweya safari lodge in time to lunch. While at Mweya, overlooking Kazinga channel, you will be able to see several bird species. Later in the evening you will head for an evening game drive viewing not only bird species but also varied wildlife such as the lions, buffaloes, elephants etc.

Take the Kasenyi track to kikorongo lake and you will be position to see birds such as the martial eagles, squacco herons, ibises, glossy and sacred ibises among others. Later return to lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2:  Birding at Maramagambo forest.                       

Early in the morning, have breakfast and pack you lunch ahead to Maramgambo forest for yet another birding experience, along the trails you will be able come across several monkeys and on rare occasion chimps and leopards. Check popular bat cave that also doubles as home to the pythons get the opportunity to see the palm nut vultures. You will also undertake a walk depending on your stamina you will do more walks. This prime bird viewing walk avails to you the opportunity to view bird such as the Sulphur Breasted Bush Shrike, Fawn Breasted among other catch a number of butterflies, later in the evening you will return to your place of accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3:  Visit kyambura wildlife reserve.

In the morning, have breakfast and head off to kyambura gorge and kyambura wildlife reserve  this will  grant you an opportunity to see the habituated chimpanzee closely , you will also come across  other primates such as the ververt monkeys, olive baboons and black and white colobus monkeys . The gorge is afforested area and it’s surrounded by Queen Elizabeth national park. While there, be on the look for the black bee eaters, blue breasted king fishers, speckled tinker bird, green hylia, white- spotted  fluff tail, African black emerald cuckoos and many more.

Visit the lake near kyambura wildlife reserve, get another amazing opportunity to see the flamingo lake spot the grebe and several ducks along the way among many other birds. Return to the Mweya peninsular and if time allows, you will proceed to the bird hide and see lots of birds including the cormorants, sacred ibid and fish eagles.  Head back to you lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4:  game drive around the park.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will engage in yet another thrilling game drive around the park spotting different wildlife and bird species, the experience is rather an exciting one because viewing these birds will be on surprise basis depending on their location, return to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch head to Kazinga channel for   a 3 hours boat cruise. You will be able to see several birds’ species and wildlife, you will be birds such as African Skimmer, Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, Water Thick-knee, Three-banded Plover, Marsh, Green, Wood and Common Sandpiper, Gray-headed Gull, Plain Martin, Lesser Swamp-Warbler later head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5:  Birding and return to Kampala.

Wake to another birding experience, have breakfast and head to do birding around the airfield later head back to check out lodge and transfer to Kampala arriving in the evening.
